nyx
Nyx is the Greek primordial goddess of night. Hesiod's Theogony establishes that Chaos gave birth to Nyx. Nyx mates with Erebus to give birth to Aether and Hemera. Later, on her own, Nyx gives birth to Moros, Ker, Thanatos, Hypnos, the Oneiroi, Momus, Oizys, the Hesperides, the Moirai, the Keres, Nemesis, Apate, Philotes, Geras, and Eris. Hesiod states that Nyx's daughter Hemera left Tartarus just as Nyx entered it; continuing in a cycle, when Hemera returned, Nyx left.
