hermes
Hermes is the son of Zeus. He is also the second youngest of the Olympian gods. He is the messenger of the gods, the god of trade, thieves, travellers, sports, athletes, border crossings and guide to the Underworld. He is also sometimes a trickster. He wears a pair of winged sandals and a winged cap and also carries a winged staff with two snakes wrapped around it. Hermes had helped many gods and mortals and had also outwitted many other gods as well. He helped the Greeks win the fight against the Trojans. He helped his great-grandson Odysseus escape fate of being turned into an animal by Circe's power by letting him chew a magical herb to protect himself. Hermes also told Calypso about Zeus' order to free Odysseus from her island and continue his journey back home. Hermes killed the giant Argus by putting him to sleep first, and then slaying him. The symbols of Hermes are the palm tree, turtle, rooster, goat, the number four, several kinds of fish and incense.
